The pictures in this grid are made up of a photo I took on a wall at the Pearl District. I took the photo and cropped it in different areas, eventually putting mixed matched peices together into a grid. This is one of my favorites grids because it shows the texture in different parts of the original photo.

American Photography
This photo was taken by Paul Strand, who was an American photographer and filmmaker. Paul Stand was known for capturing shapes and objects in sharp format. I like this photo because he was able to capture a busy moment on the streets. Paul was known for using straight photography and believed photographers needed to "face photography, not manipulate it."

My three best photos
This photo was taken in the courtyard of my school. When I started shooting the stem, I wasn't aiming for any particular shot that was required. I was playing around with the settings, wondering what I would be able to capture. When I uploaded this photo to my camera, I was shocked to see how defined the thorns were and how much color there was. I love how the background is blurred because it really makes the stem the main focus of the picture. This photo was taken in a portrait format using foreground elements.
This photo was one of my favorites because I had the best time taking it! These sisters are my cousins, Jordan (left) and Kennedy. While we were at my grandparents house for a family gathering, I had asked them to pose for me, but they wouldn't stay still! I couldn't stop laughing as they sang along to Glee and bickered back and forth to one another. Luckily, I was able to take this photo when they started to settle down. This is one of my favorite photos because of how both of their faces are able to fill the frame and it really shows the sisterly relationship between the two girls.
At first I was a little hesitant about using this photo because I didn't know if people would be bored with it, but I decided to experiment with how I could make it more interesting. I decided to crop the photo to show how wide the tree was, and I think that was what it needed. I also love how the green leaves and bright light in the background make the photo look magical.

Photographers who inspire me
This photo was taken by Elise Thompson Avishai. Elise took this photo while she was in Ohio meeting the community of Mennonites. I personally love when candid photos, and out of all the shots that Elise took, this one really caught my eye. The yawning boy was just so adorable I had to pick this one to share.
Manjari Sharma's idea of capturing a peaceful moment in an inclosed space like a shower was so creative. I admire the fact that she was able to capture the moment of her models unwinding and relaxing their bodies under the hot water. The splashing water gives the picture an awesome affect.
This photo was taken by Dima Gavrysh. What I first noticed about this photo was the model's posture. As his head hangs, I couldn't help but wonder what was going through his head at that moment. The color affect and dust in the background makes the picture so powerful and reminds us of all the men and woman who have served our country.

Self Portrait
I like this photo because it is an action shot and that I am at my school, where my days are pretty much well spent. This photo describes my personality well because I'm very outgoing and I love to have fun. Thanks to my good friend Keirsten Brown for taking this photo!
